This template is a Citation Style 1 wrapper template based on {{Cite encyclopedia}}. For centralised Citation Style 1 discussions, see Help talk:Citation Style 1.
This template generates a citation for a particular term defined in the third (online) edition of the Oxford English Dictionary. Usage
{{Cite OED|headword|entry ID}}
To retrieve the entry ID, click "Cite" at the top of the entry page and copy the 10-digit number after https://doi.org/10.1093/OED/. If the ID is absent, the headword is linked to the search results. The first and second parameters have aliases |term= and |id=, respectively.
Optionally, |subentry= or |subsection= may be used to refer to a specific part of the entry. These also have individual IDs, which can be found at by clicking "Cite" at the bottom of the section of the entry, or underneath each sense (meaning) in the "Meaning & use" section.
